The prospect of China's plastic processing industry (I)
I. The current situation of China's plastic industry
China's plastic processing industry has developed rapidly in recent decades, especially in the past 20 years of reform and opening up, the annual average growth rate has reached more than 10%. The plastic industry swaggered into the 21st century as a "sunrise industry", and made remarkable achievements. In 2001, the total output of plastic products reached more than 20 million tons, The output has ranked second in the world. According to the data provided by the National Bureau of statistics, all state-owned enterprises in the plastic products industry and non-state-owned industrial enterprises with an annual product sales revenue of more than 5million yuan completed a total industrial output value of 204.386 billion yuan in 2001, an increase of 14.9% over the previous year. The total output of plastic products was 11.853 million tons, an increase of 13.1% over the previous year, and the completed production and marketing rate was 96.6%
the output of plastic products is unevenly distributed in all provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the country, but it is gratifying that in 2001, the development speed of plastic products in the western region was the fastest compared with that in the country, such as the growth of 108.9% in Qinghai, 40.2% in Inner Mongolia, 33.8% in Xinjiang, 29.1% in Liaoning, 23% in Shanxi, 22.9% in Chongqing and 20.1% in Sichuan. In 2001, the total export volume of plastic products in China was 5.358 million tons, an increase of 4.95% over the previous year, and the foreign exchange earned was 5.55 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.97%; The import volume of plastic products was 1.509 million tons, a decrease of 7.9% over the previous year, and the use of foreign exchange was 3.84 billion US dollars, a decrease of 1.1%. China's plastic processing technology and equipment, the types and application fields of plastic products have entered the world's advanced ranks. With the rapid development of economic globalization, its wall thickness is only 25% of the previous generation of connectors and the new situation after China's entry into WTO, China's plastic products processing industry is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges
according to the statistics of the Ministry of agriculture, the annual coverage area of plastic film in China has reached more than 180million mu, and the annual demand for plastic film is more than 450000 tons; The covered area of greenhouse film is 22.5 million mu, with an annual demand of 650000 tons of greenhouse film. The actual consumption of agricultural film is more than 1.1 million tons. The consumption of agricultural film is the first in the world. The plastic industry has made great contributions to promoting the development of agriculture and improving farmers' income
at present, the output of plastic packaging materials in China has exceeded 3.5 million tons, accounting for more than 18% of the total plastic output, and it is one of the fastest growing fields of plastic products processing industry
the proportion of plastic pipes and profiled materials used in construction pipes and doors and windows has reached 30% and 15% respectively, and the total demand will reach more than 800000 tons per year in the future
the output of synthetic resin in China exceeded 10million tons in 2000, an increase of 15.83% over the previous year
there are about 600 enterprises engaged in the manufacturing of plastic machines and related products in China, with more than 100000 employees and an annual output of more than 100000 sets of various equipment. In 2000, the output value of plastic machines in China was 8.529 billion yuan, an increase of 22.32% over the previous year, and the sales revenue was 7.266 billion yuan. The same as 3. The special structure increased by 19.73%, and the export was 238million US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 77.61%. All domestic medium and low-grade molds and 60% of high-end, large, complex and precision molds can be produced in China
For more than 10 years, the National Committee for standardization of plastic products has organized the formulation and revision of more than 200 national and industrial standards in a planned way, including 124 national standards and 85 industrial standards. The proportion of adopting international standards and foreign advanced standards is more than 50%. Standardization has made great contributions to promoting the development of China's plastic industryaccording to the Montreal Protocol, China should undertake corresponding obligations to protect the ozone layer and phase out ODS, the ozone depleting substance. Before 2010, CFCs will be completely stopped in the production of ps/pe extruded foam sheet and polyurethane foam in China. At present, the funding of the United Nations has been partially in place, making it an excellent choice for pumps and some other uses. The gradual replacement and transformation of more than 10000 tons of CFC consumed by China's foam enterprises is being smoothly implemented
since the reform and opening up, China's plastic industry has developed vigorously, and a relatively complete industrial system has been formed. Plastic has become a new material industry with steel, cement and wood, and China has entered the ranks of the world's largest plastic products. China's plastic enterprises have the strength to participate in international competition. Facing the future, the situation is gratifying
II. Opportunities and challenges faced by the plastic industry
after China becomes a member of WTO, it will further improve the international market environment of China's plastic industry, create conditions for expanding exports, and bring new growth and development space; Accelerate the pace of industrial structure adjustment of the whole industry; It is conducive to absorbing advanced technology and management methods of the same industry; At the same time, it also creates favorable conditions for plastic enterprises to transform their management mechanism
at present, the import tariff rate of ethylene for high-precision medical catheter and TPE particles is 18%. By 2008, the tariff will be implemented in accordance with the WTO agreement, and the tariff rate of polyethylene will be 6.5%. For China, this will have a great impact on the petrochemical industry, but for the plastic processing industry, we can use imported raw materials more conveniently and economically, introduce foreign advanced technology and equipment, and participate in international competition. For example, according to customs statistics, polyethylene raw materials and products exported 32000 tons in 2001, earning US $40400 in foreign exchange; In the same period, the import of polyethylene raw materials and products was 4.164 million tons, with foreign exchange of 2.766.2 billion US dollars. Imports of polyethylene raw materials and products increased significantly over the previous year, and exports also decreased significantly over the previous year. (to be continued)
