Basic performance requirements of airport fire truck

airport fire truck refers to a fire vehicle specially used to prevent and put out aircraft fires, timely rescue the passengers on board, and spray fire extinguishing agent during vehicle driving. Due to its working characteristics and the particularity of the environment, airport fire engines have higher performance requirements than ordinary fire engines

1 Classification of airport fire engines

according to the needs of airport fire fighting tactics, airport fire engines are divided into:

1.1 rapid transfer vehicle (RIV)

also known as head vehicle. Its fire extinguishing capacity is small, but its speed is particularly high, the engine does not need to be preheated, and the temperature is 7? Above C, the full load driving speed is greater than 80km/h within 0 ~ 25s. Its function is to put out the fire of the crashed aircraft before the main foam vehicle reaches the crash site, so as to control the fire and prevent the spread of the fire

1.2 the main foam vehicle (gtlf)

is also called the main vehicle. It has large fire-fighting capacity, strong operational adaptability and complete equipment. It is the main fire-fighting and rescue vehicle in the event of an aircraft crash at the airport. When the main vehicle runs with full load, it can accelerate to 80km/h within 0 ~ 40s, and the maximum speed is more than 100km/h

2 basic performance requirements of airport fire engines

according to the statistics of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), 91% of aircraft crashes occurred during aircraft take-off or landing, that is, most of them occurred in the area 600m along the center line of the whole runway and on the standby runway, of which 71% of the crashed aircraft were burned down due to fire

since most of the aircraft burns fuel, polymer materials and light metals, which will produce a large amount of toxic gases and thick smoke, the time for the crew to escape after the fire is very short. Therefore, the airport fire truck must arrive at the accident site in the shortest time, so that the fire can be controlled in time and help the crew to evacuate within this escape time. The International Civil Aviation Organization clearly stipulates that the response time of airport fire engines arriving at any part of the airport takeoff and landing area shall not exceed three minutes, preferably no more than two minutes, because the water-based adhesive does not contain VOC at all

at present, there is no national standard for the performance requirements of airport fire engines in China. In order to meet the requirements of standard mh700294 "equipment allocation of civil aviation transportation airport fire station", we can effectively carry out fire fighting and rescue, The airport fire truck must meet the following basic performance requirements:

2.1 chassis

the chassis selected by the airport fire truck must ensure to arrive at the aircraft crash site within the required response time, but the FRP bridge deck is expensive. Although the runway area of the airport is flat, there may be some obstacles, such as ditches, loose mud, etc. the airport fire engine must cross these obstacles to reach all possible crash sites within the scope of the airport fire control

2.1.1 it has strong off-road performance and must be all wheel drive. The chassis must have sufficient strength and stiffness, and the minimum ground clearance, approach angle and departure angle shall meet the requirements

Better acceleration performance (P> 1.2) than the highest power

2.1.3 the transmission system shall adopt automatic transmission as far as possible, with a high degree of automation in driving and operation, and shall be sensitive, convenient and reliable

2.1.4 good stability and low center of gravity, i.e. good lateral stability when driving off-road. Generally, the vehicle is required to be able to operate at 20% (about 10?) It runs on a side slope with good operational stability

2.1.5 the braking system must be a dual independent third system. When the main braking system fails, another independent system can also act on the brake to ensure the safety and reliability of the braking system. The main brake shall be able to stop the fully loaded vehicle on a 50% slope

2.1.6 when the vehicle is running, the noise inside the vehicle must be controlled within 85 dB

2.1.7 good accessibility of vehicle repair and maintenance

2.2 fire fighting system

2.2.1 large capacity, multi-function, high efficiency and high reliability. Large loading of fire extinguishing agent, large flow of water pump, high fire extinguishing efficiency and reliable operation of the system

2.2.2 the fire monitor is installed above the cab or the front end of the vehicle, which can rotate 200, with an elevation angle greater than 45 and a depression angle greater than 15. The fire monitor has a large flow and can be adjusted at any time according to the fire-fighting needs, with a long range

2.2.3 fast response speed and can put the system into operation at the fastest speed

2.2.4 the control system has high degree of automation, simple operation, safety, reliability and sensitive response. It usually adopts electric or electro-hydraulic power control device, and is equipped with standby manual control device for use in case of power system failure

2.2.5 the use of light signals and the display, identification and indication of instruments and instruments enables firefighters to accurately obtain information about the status of equipment at any time

2.2.6 the control device shall be arranged within the sight and reach of firefighters, and one firefighter can control the control device of fire equipment

2.2.7 self protective spray heads are installed in front of the cab and on both sides of the vehicle body to protect the vehicle body and wheels

2.2.8 fire fighting pipes and valves shall be made of corrosion-resistant materials

2.3 other

airport fire engines should also have good fire extinguishing mobility and certain rescue ability, that is, they should not only have the ability to spray fire extinguishing agent while driving, but also have the ability to rescue the crew and aircraft when the fire is controlled or extinguished. Therefore, the fire truck should have seats for firefighters engaged in rescue work, and be equipped with required rescue equipment and safety equipment
